DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION
Golden Oyster Liquid Culture Syringe (Pleurotus citrinopileatus)
Our Golden Oyster liquid culture is a pure, high-yielding strain of live mycelium suspended in a nutrient-rich solution, designed for fast and reliable mushroom cultivation.
Each syringe contains pre-germinated mycelium, meaning you can skip the spore germination stage entirely. Liquid cultures offer faster colonisation, reduced contamination risk, and consistent genetic performance compared to multi-spore syringes.
Every batch is tested on agar to ensure you receive only the cleanest and healthiest Golden Oyster mycelium possible.

Fast-Colonising, High-Yield Golden Oyster Genetics
Golden Oyster mushrooms are known for their vibrant yellow colour and delicate, slightly fruity flavour. Native to parts of Russia, northern China, and Japan, they have been enjoyed for centuries for both culinary use and traditional wellness purposes.
Today, Golden Oyster mushrooms are valued for their nutritional profile, containing vitamins, minerals, dietary fibre, and protein. They are also being studied for their bioactive compounds, including beta-glucans and potential antioxidant properties.
Their sweet umami flavour makes them ideal for sautéing, stir-frying, roasting, or adding colour to gourmet dishes.
Optimised Liquid Culture Formula
Through extensive research and development, we have refined a unique blend of malt and yeast extracts to provide the perfect balance of carbohydrates and proteins for strong mycelial growth.
All cultures are produced in our laboratory using pure commercial master cultures and are rigorously tested to ensure they are 100% contaminant-free.
Benefits of Liquid Culture
-
Grow faster by skipping the 1–4 week spore germination stage
-
Start with proven genetics rather than unpredictable multi-spore results
-
Simple to use — inject directly into sterilised grain or substrate
-
Selected strains optimised for yield, flavour, and nutrient density
-
Guaranteed results or your culture will be replaced free of charge
-
Save money by growing mushrooms at home
-
Golden Oyster mushrooms contain valuable compounds such as beta-glucans
How to Use
The process is straightforward:
1. Preparation
Shake the syringe vigorously for around 10 seconds. Remove the cap and attach the sterile needle.
2. Inoculation
Inject approximately 5ml of liquid culture into your sterilised grain spawn or substrate through an injection port.
3. Colonisation
Within 3–4 weeks, the grain or substrate should fully colonise and be ready for fruiting or spawning to bulk.
Recommended Growing Conditions
Substrate
Hardwood-based substrates or a 50/50 hardwood and soy hull blend (Masters Mix), hydrated to around 60%.
Temperature
-
Colonisation: ~25°C (77°F)
-
Fruiting: 21–27°C (70–80°F)
Humidity
Maintain high humidity above 80% for healthy fruit development.
Light
-
Colonisation: Darkness preferred
-
Fruiting: Indirect or ambient light is sufficient
Fresh Air Exchange (FAE)
Proper ventilation is essential to prevent CO₂ buildup and encourage strong mushroom formation.
Sterility
Clean technique is critical to prevent contamination from competing fungi or bacteria.
What’s Included

Storage Instructions
For best long-term storage, keep syringes in a dark place, ideally refrigerated at 2–8°C.
Stored correctly, liquid culture syringes can remain viable for up to a year or longer.
(Only certain tropical species, such as Pink Oyster, are better stored at room temperature.)
